Additional Instrumental Ensembles
There are many opportunities at Jerome and beyond to cultivate a love of music performance. You may consider joining or auditioning for one of the following.

Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble meets during the school day and performs within the greater Columbus area. The group has specific instrumentation: trumpets, trombones, saxophones, piano, guitar, string bass, and drums. The music includes styles of big band jazz interspersed with contemporary idioms and performance practices. Improvisation is a large part of this course.
Pep Band
The Pep Band performs at many of the boys’ and girls’ basketball games. They play energizing music including Marching Band stand tunes and contemporary popular music.

Pit Orchestra
Pit Orchestra accompanies the theater department's annual musical. The rigorous rehearsal schedule is outside school hours and begins approximately three months before the performance weekend. This is an extremely rewarding ensemble for those seeking a challenge. The pit orchestra director will determine the personnel selection.
Symphony Orchestra
Each year, specific winds and percussion may be needed to perform with the string orchestra. This music is to be played by those instrumentalists who exude confidence on their instrument and who exhibit a mature concept of sound quality. Rehearsals for the full orchestra will be conducted outside of the school day. The orchestra director will determine the personnel selection for this ensemble.
